Approach to Treatment
We specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, body image issues, trauma, anxiety and mood disorders. Having been trained from a person-centered approach, We wholeheartedly believe that you are the expert of your life. Our aim is to help you create the necessary changes while providing safety and connection in a collaborative relationship. We are invested in your recovery and our interest lies in helping you clearly identify and express your strengths, hopes, and values, which may have become lost amidst life’s struggles.
Like many of our clients, we understand that you have much to lose and want to re-claim control of your life. Psychotherapy is a powerful tool for working through life’s challenges. Establishing a therapeutic relationship sets the foundation and a safe space to dig deeper into ourselves and release the obstacles preventing us from adaptive methods of coping. We will walk alongside of you and take an interactive, genuine, and authentic approach. At Sarah Davis Therapy, our style is validating, interactive, supportive, and direct, thereby allowing for active collaboration in helping you achieve your goals in the direction you want it to go.
All are welcome here. Our practice welcomes people of all races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities, expressions and disabilities.
Our approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, which promotes a culture of safety, empowerment and healing. We practice utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Enhanced Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT-E), Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) working in a strength-based and relational style. We provide individual, group, and family therapy both in office and virtually.
The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination. -Carl Rogers
